On a boat trip you can take the opportunity to see „Il Christo degli Abissi“ (“Christ of the abyss”), a submerged bronze statue of Jesus Christ. It was placed in the water in 1954 at approximately 17 metres depth, and stands approx. 2.5 metres tall. The sculptor, Duilio Marcante created this statue in memory of his friend Dario Gonzatti who lost his live on a diving trip. Also to see is a monastery in the bay of San Fruttuoso, built in the year 984 by Benedictine Monks. Since 1275 the Family Doria has been in posession of the monastery.
